Valletta – Bettina Hutschek
In the story VALLETTA, a big Armadillo becomes the guardian of Maltese Memory, and leads the listener through the city’s timeline, where scientific rigor and documentary facts are constantly being mixed up with poetical fiction and possible re-interpretation of historical events. The story is told both in the form of a performance-conference using text and slides, and as an independent video.
The setting for the performance is a normal lecture room: desk, screen, video projector and slide presentation. I present a Maltese loaf of bread, a bottle of Kinnie, and a bottle of Cisk – these objects give a touch of “veracity” and humour.
